But different ;)

I had one of those in the 80s when traveling the USA. actually my gf at the time, I drove a 750 shaft driven Yamaha triple.
Its a nice shaft bike and in the light of Indian power the engine is OK too although at the time it seem very sluggish.

My mate had a Brand New "Plastic Maggot" as we called the early CX500, mushy suspension, mushy engine but hard to kill :ROFLMAO:

Got a Plan,AA1bsLME.jpeg but it is nothing like this!

Uploaded from my phone, works okay there!

It will be Wrapped of course and a Muffler running Transverse will exit via 32mm pipes finishing just behind the riders footpegs

Enough room for a Radiator?

Will be Tight!

I'm thinking it will utilize Lithium technology as space runs out, that was where the big battery went before.

Wrapped and fitted, Carbies next.

Full Carby and Manifold set with Mikuni VM34 is about a thousand bucks, These Carbies and New inlets/Fiter Pods was about $125.
High quality Carbies $65 for the Pair! šŸ™ƒ

That setup looks sweet!

I've always had only one gripe with the CX and that is the "rounded" triangle in the rear part of the frame. I prefer straight lines there!
If I had one I would have probably tried to cut and weld to correct that (in my eyes) design abort!

All the rest is great (probably spoked wheels would look better) and I love the transverse engine configuration!

That area is where I hope to install the Radiator so that The front of the engine is more Exposed.
Spoked wheels were never fitted, that was the era of Comstar wheels.
Easy to paint the wheels ;) Gold maybe.

You could convert the comstar wheels to spoke, but I recon it's a lot of work, really a lot! It has been done though!

Nip and tuck the frame to make the radiator fit! :)

Spoked wheels as well, maybe the Railway line makes it look very Straight and Rigid?

They stack an awful amount of stuff in that space from new.

None have the Radiator at the Back so there is probably a good reason that has eluded me

Or Eluded everyone else!

This one is wicked!
If you could replicate the same setup (I recon changing the shock absorber placement in the back is not an easy feat though), you could hang the radiator easily from the (lof of) empty space you create beneath the saddle!

They seem to be using just a bracket welded to the OEM swingarm. And another welded to the backbone.
Need something to hold the Seat and Mudguard and tail. light number plate, so I do not envisage removal of all that and going single shocker.
This will shock enough with the Radiator replacement.
