Factory new or under 3000km bike: (Euro5/BS6)
- check valves
- disassemble front fork, replace fork oil
- replace head bearings with western skf and use marine grease
- disassemble swingarm- droplink triangle and re grease with lots of marine grease
- BS6: exchange 4 relais under seat and one under right side panel with quality equivalents
- grease seat lock mechanism
- BS4 and BS6 : check if wire harness was updated to disconnect gear indicator from +, if not ask dealership to give you the needed extra cable. Alternative: install battery disconnect switch
- Mushy weak front brake - get sintered pads
Used model (BS3/BS4/Euro4 or older BS6) - over 3000km
Do everything above as it applies to your model, then also check this:
- Check if the gear change is smooth (can you easily get into neutral with engine running?). If not you may have to exchange the entire clutch assembly.
- Problems with cold start, cutouts - if so invest in a FuelX (if you plan to stick to stock engine) or Fuel X Pro (if you plan to upgrade engine components)
- If your bike has the OEM carrier (with or without panniers) check all bolts and tighten them.
