Does this apply to the Red Box?
Nope.Does this apply to the Red Box?
Thanks, that is the main source of information I have so far. I might have to face the local dealer and book something in, otherwise buy the diagnostic tool from Hitchocks.OK try this :
Thanks for that, I was going to get the one from Hitchocks, but will look this up.Not all OBD tools are created equal. after a few failed (cheaper) options I went with this one for all my BS4 and BS6 models (Hima and Meteor and Hunter):
ELM327 Bluetooth OBD-II Scan Tool
and the TORQUE app for Android. It costs a few bucks but is worth it. On the Meteor I use it as tacho (with an old mobile).
also make sure you get the correct cable, for the Hima it is the one depicted below.
I only kicked it over, and ran it for about 10 seconds to see if any other codes came up. The Red Box is back on and I am going for a test run today up to the servo for some 98 RON and start in the 500 km bedding in period. Gunna clean out the car trailer first, just in case I need rescuing.Using only the OEM ECU has the inherent risk of running way too lean. That can lead to overheating and seizing. Plus of course annoying and dangerous knocking.
